6th-8th Grade Camps

Robot Workshop (June 3-7)

What is a robot? How does it differ from a machine? We will dig into these questions as we put SCI’s bots to the test in this coding, electricity, and engineering camp.

STEM Learning Goals: Campers will have an increased understanding of robotics, and coding, and have fun in robotics competitions.

SCI Film School (June 10-14)

Do you have a story to tell? From set design and scripts to claymation and editing we will uncover the STEM in filmmaking and work together to make a movie!

STEM Learning Goals: Campers will work together to create films of their design.

Exhibit Design (June 17-21)

Science is full of jargon, can you help us translate it so that people can understand it? Help SCI design a new conservation exhibit and test demonstrations for our visitors as we learn how to tell STEM stories for everyone.

STEM Learning Goals: Campers will learn about science communication, exhibit design, and conservation in this museum studies camp.

Inventor’s Laboratory (June 24-28)

Are you a problem-solver, maker, and collaborator? Join us as we think big to face the world's challenges and make things better.

STEM Learning Goals: Campers will work together to use the engineering design process and invent tools to help others.

iEarth 6th-8th (June 24-28)

STEM Learning Goals: Increased understanding of canoe safety, ecology, conservation, and ecosystems.

Innovation Lab Camp (July 1-3)

What's inside a robot? How do they work? How are they made? Investigate these questions by building and coding a robot of your very own!"

STEM Learning Goals: Campers will learn to code and build robots from scratch.

*Innovation Lab Camp is a three-day camp.
